A Crawley care company is teaming up with Morrisons and Dementia UK to help secure the long-term future of the town’s Admiral Nursing Service.
Home Instead Senior Care owner Rajive De Chickera was delighted when he heard that four specialist dementia Admiral Nurses had been appointed in Crawley.
But, he was also concerned. He said: “Every day we care for elderly people in their own homes providing services such as companionship, personal care, shopping and preparing meals to enable them to continue living in their owns homes.
“Admiral Nurses have unique clinical skills and work with the NHS to support the carers of those living with dementia. We can see the wonderful impact they have on the lives of people who are living with dementia and their families.
“However, they are only here for three years, after that there is no funding at present. So I decided that we should start a campaign now to raise funds to keep them in Crawley for longer.”
His team, Morrisons staff and Dementia UK volunteers will hold a collection at the Crawley store from Friday May 22 to Sunday May 24.
