Flowers and photographs have been left at the roadside near Partridge Green as a tribute to a 19-year-old woman who died on Friday (May 15).
Sussex Police have identified the victim as Alexandra Giddings, of Brighton Road, Shermanbury.
Emergency services were called to the B2116 Shermanbury Road at around 10.20pm on Thursday (May 14).
Police said a blue Citroen C1 driven by Ms Giddings left the road and collided with a tree. She was the only occupant.
Paramedics treated her at the scene before she was driven to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton in a life-threatening condition.
She died in hospital the following morning (Friday May 15), police said.
Floral tributes have been left at the scene of the collision.
One message reads: “R.I.P Princess Alexandra. Sleep well angel.”
