Proposed changes to school catchment areas have gone to public consultation.
West Sussex County Council has published its plans for September 2016 school admissions arrangements near Crawley’s new neighbourhoods, Forge Wood and Kilnwood Vale.
Forge Wood Primary School will open in north east Crawley next September.
Under the plans, Milton Mount Primary’s catchment area’s northern border would be bound by the A2011 Crawley Avenue.
In west Crawley, the council proposed changes to Waterfield Primary, The Bewbush Academy, The Mill Primary Academy’s catchment areas.
A two-form entry primary school is to open in Kilnwood Vale in 2018.
The development on the A264 between Crawley and Horsham fell under the schools’ areas.
The council proposed to move the schools and some Horsham schools’ catchment areas until the new one’s catchment area was determined.
The council anticipated the supply of extra school places in the Crawley primary schools would meet future demand for additional places in the Crawley area. The consultation runs to January 26.
