A teenage boy was airlifted to hospital in a neck brace after he accidentally fell at Hazelwick School.

South East Coast Ambulance Service was called to the school in Three Bridges at around 11.15am yesterday (Monday May 12).

A Sussex Air Ambulance helicopter, two ambulance cars and an ambulance attended the incident.

A spokesman for the air ambulance said the boy was aged 16 and suffered injuries to his hand, upper arm, ankle, foot and abdomen after he fell on stairs.

A SECAmb spokesman said the medical teams worked together to treat the boy at the scene.

He was put in a neck brace and taken St George’s Hospital in London by helicopter.
