Police are appealing for witnesses after an intruder smashed a window of the property in Dower Walk, Gossops Green, between 6.30pm and 10.30pm on March 19 while the woman was out.

Rings, chains, necklaces and bracelets were stolen, including a gold bracelet, a gold ring set with diamonds and a sapphire, crystal chains, necklaces and ear-rings, gold chains, a pearl necklace and a gold ring set with a pearl.

Detective Constable Rebecca Wilde said: “The victim returned to find her home ransacked and has been left very shaken by what has happened.

“I’m keen to speak to anyone who was in the area around Dower Walk on the evening of 19 March and could have seen or heard something.

“If you saw or heard anything, please contact me.”
