TIME is running out for anyone wishing to claim their seat for Crawley’s sixth annual State of the Borough debate.
The event is open to residents and business people and gives locals the chance to ask questions of the key decision-makers in the town.
A panel made up of representatives from Crawley Borough Council, West Sussex County Council, health, Crawley Youth Council and Sussex Police will be on hand to answer questions from the audience.
State of the Borough will be held on Tuesday January 24 at the civic hall, next to the town hall, from 7-9pm.
It will open with a presentation by Cllr Bob Lanzer, leader of Crawley Borough Council, who will talk about the future development of the town as well as reflecting on some of the key achievements of the past 12 months.
A council spokesman said: “It’s an exciting time for Crawley Borough Council as it begins to sketch out a local plan that will shape the development of Crawley to 2029. The audience will have an opportunity to take part in this debate and consider the challenges and dilemmas facing us as the town grows and develops.”
More than 100 people attended last year’s event and discussed topics including parking on grass verges, a new hospital, Controlled Parking Zones, capacity and disabled access at K2 Crawley, potential for a park and ride scheme, community arts and the Hawth.
